Registered Reflexology Therapist

What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy based on the belief that reflexes in the hands, feet and ears correspond to every part, organ and gland in the body. By the application of pressure to these reflex points we are able to relieve stress and anxiety, improve circulation and, thereby assist the body to return to a state of homeostasis or balance.

How Does Reflexology Work In The Body?

Reflexology reduces stress automatically during a session, causing chemical changes to occur at the cellular level throughout the body.  Through systemic pressure and stimulation of the reflexes, the body is assisted to return to natural functioning.  In the process, endorphins (natural pain-killers) are released, parasympathetic relaxation of the nervous system takes place, increased blood and lymphatic circulation results in increased oxygen and immune levels, all of which help to restore balance to every system of the body

For either preventative care or in response to physical or emotional distress, a reflexology session acts as a catalyst to aid the body towards its own natural healing process.

The Origins of Reflexology

Practiced in diverse cultures for centuries, REFLEXOLOGY, a method of touch therapy, is a universally acclaimed healing art and science.

Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Reflexologists do not treat specific conditions but rather treat the body as a whole and thus relief can come to certain conditions. While many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress-people recognize reflexology as a well established, respected and effective therapy.

Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle, non-invasive therapy encourages the body to work naturally to reinstate its own healthy balance.
